Its nearing my 18th birthday soon and I've been wanting to work since the day i turned 16. And with the help of my dad I'm opening up a bank and savings account against my mother's knowledge. I have trust issues with my mother abt my money. Months ago she "borrowed" 1.4k from my eldest sister and i don't know if that was ever returned. Thats what i got ear of and idk if its true or not. My mother claims she is too broke to help me acquire a job yet i saw was willing to spend 600 for a "vacay" laptop to take with her a week after my siblings get done with this current school year. Yet, can't help me back n forth 3 miles just so i CAN work to help out. Point is, am i wrong for not wanting my mother help me make an acc in fear of her having access and potentially taking my money?
