Hey everybody, I (22F) and my best friend (25F) have been friends for a while now. Her birthday is approaching this weekend on the 13th and I have been searching for a birthday gift for some time. On wednesday the perfect gift came to mind, so I went to the store and bought it. It’s a blue orchid she has not stopped talking about. When I reached home and presented it to her, she said that “this is the most heartbreaking thing I could have done by giving it early” and flat out rejected it, so I took it to my room and I don’t feel like giving it to her anymore. I however feel like the asshole for trying to give it early and I also feel really hurt that she would just say that. No thank you, no sorry I can’t accept it, just straight up disappointed. Am I the asshole?
