My college has study rooms that you have to book (most people don't unless they REALLY need it). I wanted to study so I went to an empty room. Then I thought, "I should check if this room is booked." It was booked; the people were just late, so I just decided to book the one next to me. After about 30 minutes they came, and I apologized. They said it was fine, and I left. No struggle.

Before all of this, a group was in the room I booked when they weren't supposed to. I didn't wanna make a scene because I was already in the empty room, and the ppl who were supposed to show up did not by that point so I figured to just let them have it until I get kicked out. I admit, I should've given a heads up beforehand, but they ended up having really bad attitudes. I'm talking screaming over a room (I was calm), so I'm glad I did NOT.

When I finally got kicked out, I went and told the group to leave politely and explained the situation. They started to argue with me, accusing me of being unfair, and said I shouldn't have booked it while they were in there. Now, my thing is, why didn't YOU GUYS book the room before entering if you really needed it? Just like I left when I was supposed to because someone else booked the other room I was in (no back and forth), you should too and not argue. They kept refusing so I got someone to kick them out. THEN, they started accusing me of being rude to them because I said they had 5 minutes to move since they kept trying to argue and escalate the situation by yelling at me. I was calm and assertive. (my friend also pointed out that they were lying about me being rude since she was with me too). I still got the room in the end, but who do you think was wrong? AITAH?
