I (20f) just came home from a 10 hr shift and was chilling so my brother (18m) and mum (47f) asked me to play the game Over Cooked. I've seen about it from gamers on tik tok and agreed to play and give it a go after a long week. We were playing and I realised I can't see much as I took my glasses off. My brother was screaming at everyone on what to do and when I kept making mistakes he yelled at me like Gordan Ramsay. I told him to not yell at me. Mum didn't do anything like usual except ignore us and kept trying to play. He kept yelling and taking over and saying nasty things and mum finally stepped in and told him off. By nearly the end of the level he laughs and says "this games stressful" I laughed then told him "pretty sure your making it more stressful than the game" He looked at me angry but calm and as the game ended on the level he muttered that he has to go to bed. He then gave me a nasty look and said gn to mum and refused to look at me or speak to me after that. We decided that mum and I will play a few more than go to bed ourselves and it was going great. I go to have dinner and I find that the kitchen is a mess from whoever made dinner. I always do the chores in the house as my brother does shift work and uni and I do full time shifts. He is usually tired after working at the bank and a day a week of uni so he goes to bed early. I work at a hardware store that's massive and do 70 hour weeks. He picks on me for complaining about my feet hurting and says thats being an adult. He gets to sit down most of the time. He claims he has a harder life. I get it working these days is hard but I put in my part after being abused and sexualised and having to lift heavy things as I'm the only one capable around older people. It bothers me when he says "womp womp" when ever I talk about work but he makes me listen about his shitty day. And yells at me for not listening. I'm tired after not having a day off. The only day off I had was 1 and I had to help with shopping and I was back on the clock straight up. I'm building a business! Yet I still respect everyone, find time for the family and look after the house.
So aitah for laughing at my brother for the way he is acting?
