📝 AITAH for not “adjusting” my shop’s aesthetic for my friend’s bridal party?

Hi! So I (23F) run a lace boutique I inherited from my grandmother. It’s very vintage, kind of old-world romantic—think muted lighting, classical music, lots of antique details. I’ve kept it that way intentionally, because it’s sort of the soul of the place.

Recently, one of my close friends asked if she could bring her bridal party to do some shopping and fittings. Of course I said yes. She’s more of a glitter and neon type, but I figured we’d meet in the middle.

The day of, she showed up with a whole entourage of loud bridesmaids wearing matching hot pink shirts that said “Wife of the Party,” blasting music on a Bluetooth speaker. One of them brought an iced coffee and set it on a 100-year-old lace sample (I moved it, no big deal). The girls complained it was “too quiet,” “creepy in a fairytale way,” and one of them asked if I could “turn on some Doja Cat or something.” I politely declined.

My friend texted me later saying I “killed the vibe” and that I could’ve “played along” just for a day. She said the shop felt “like a haunted grandmother’s attic” and she wanted “cute selfies” for their group page. I didn’t respond, because honestly, I was kind of hurt.

I could have made small changes for her, like letting them bring in different music or loosening up the rules. But I felt like it wasn’t fair to compromise my business’s whole vibe just for one afternoon.

So… AITAH for not adapting my shop for her bridal party?
