A month and a half ago, my online friend (21F) found some vtuber streamer on twitch and joined his community. From then on, she began talking to him and joined his discord.

About a month ago, my friend confided in me that some guy on discord 'really liked her voice' and made an AI model of her where he would make her say cute phrases for his entertainment (I assume this was within a week or 2 of her meeting him). I was horrified for her, and told her that it was extremely creepy and concerning. I told her that he would've had to record her speaking without her consent and upload it into an AI model, and told her to block him immediately.

She resisted a little bit, but took my advice and blocked him. I thought that was the end of it. However, she once told me in passing that she found a person who she listened to songs with and talked about some intimate (mental health related) issues and i brushed it off, mainly happy for her to have someone. I would later realize that it was the same AI/discord streamer guy.

3 weeks ago she admitted to me that she unblocked the guy and has been talking to him, knowing that I would get angry with her for doing so. She told me that he was extremely nice and was there for her when she was down, and that he admitted that the AI thing was creepy and that he would never do it again. I didn't buy it. I told her that I felt sad that she felt the need to confide to a complete stranger on discord rather than her friend of 4 years. I also made more examples about being safe on the internet and that even if he 'regretted' doing that, he should've known better as an adult and that his behaviour is still extremely concerning. From then on, I told her that I did not approve and did not want to discuss this matter further.

I discussed this matter with several of my friends, who have all sided with me.

2 weeks ago I get a weird, 3 paragraph long DM on discord from the same guy who somehow found my username from when I joined his server. He proceeded to admit that he had a voice kink (though he did not use the word kink) and that it was the reason he approached and liked her in the beginning. He went on a rant about how his ex cheated on him and how he wanted to end his life, and that my friend revitalized him (?). The whole thing sounded like he was asking for my friend's hand in marriage and it really creeped me out considering he barely knew her. He ended off with "how can i hurt that person who makes me happy and lively. just trust me plz i'm not gonna hurt her or let anyone to hurt her. hope you'll understand and if you st.ill feel can hurt her just give me some time and within that time if i hurt her i'll disappear from her life even though it's kills me." - directly copy pasted.

I ignored and blocked him.

Well, turns out she's dating him now and I don't know how to go about it. She mentions him sometimes and I just brush it off, because I did say that I didn't want her to talk about him with me. I feel bad about doing this but I feel like it is completely justified considering how creepy it is. They have only known each other for one and a half months. AITAH?
