We’ve been together 4 years. I took them out for dinner and away for the weekend to celebrate their birthday together. We usually have small “birthday gatherings” at home with family. Their family now wants to throw them a party with friends and family at a gun shop to shoot guns and I just don’t want to go. I don’t like loud noises, I know it’s going to be very cold and over stimulating as is, but I also can’t stand my partners sibling who will very much be there, loud and in your face about everything. I alluded to the fact that I don’t love the idea/ might not go and I got a response of “what kind of partner would you be if you didn’t go”.
