📝 AITAH for picking up extra shifts?

Lately, I've been picking up extra shifts at work to earn a little extra money since I'm graduating from college soon. I let my dad know yesterday that I’d be working a few hours in the morning tomorrow, but I didn’t tell my mom until tonight. When I finally told her, she said she had no idea and seemed upset. My dad admitted he forgot to tell her.

She got angry and said no one would be home with the dog. My dad responded that it shouldn't be an issue since I’d only be gone about as long as I would if I had morning classes. That turned into an argument between them. At one point, she called him an asshole and said she didn’t care if people thought she was mean. Then she stormed upstairs and slammed her bedroom door.

A few minutes later, she yelled down, “You better close all the doors and clean up after her!”—referring to the dog—and slammed the door again. (Just to clarify, my shift is from 8:30 to 1:00, I live about 20 minutes away, and our dog has stayed home alone for much longer before without any issues.)

Later, when I went into her room to put the dog to bed, I said “I love you,” and she replied with “I love you, bye” in a condescending tone.

Did my dad or I do anything wrong? AITAH
