Hi I'm currently a senior in highschool and my mom keep talking about that, she would immediately yell at me and told me that I would regret not going to prom for the rest of my life, but I certainly don't feel like it. I texted my friend yesterday about the prom and found out that 1 ticket cost $150, which is really horrendous to me. I talked to my mom about it and she said she willing to pay for the ticket price + dress. I stayed up the whole night finding dress, and see how other people spent their time at prom. I get really insecure when i see people having fun at prom, wearing pretty dress, having a date,...and I immediately change my mind about going to prom after that because i have nobody to go with, I also don't feel like i would look good in a prom dress.

I haven't told my mom about me refusing to go to the prom yet because I don't want to make her disappointed and mad at me for that.
