My family and I immigrated to a new country a few years ago. I (24M) still live with my parents as it is cheaper to do so, but I pay them rent monthly and occasionally buy my own groceries and cook for myself.

Recently, a pastor from our home country is visiting and uninvitedly said that he will be staying at our place. My parents are fine with it however they expected me to share my room with him. For context, I don’t even know this pastor. I don’t feel comfortable giving up my space for someone I have no connection with.

I told my mom no, and now both of my parents are upset with me. They’re acting like I’m being disrespectful and selfish.
