AITAH in this?

The guy I’m dating went back home to Pakistan to visit family. His sister also flew back home at the same time so the whole family was together.

I had never met his sister but I had met her dog and adored the doggie.

Before leaving for Pakistan he had asked if I could watch the dog for a week or so since she couldn’t find a sitter. As an animal lover I was happy to. I did find it odd she was comfortable having a stranger watch her dog and even more so since she has never spoken to nor met me.

I took great care of him and had fun having him as a visitor. Daily walks, I sent videos to him everyday to them and at one point even made a special trip to the grocery store the night before a holiday and stood in line for an hour to make sure I had enough organic chicken to make the homemade meals the dog required because I will treat any animal as if it’s mine.

When they returned, he came and got the dog and that was that.

Never did his sister thank me. Not a call, not a text. Nothing.

AITAH for thinking I at least deserved a thank you?

I would never have let a stranger watch my dog. Let alone refuse to thank them.

This remains an argument between us. I say his sister is entitled and disrespectful for this behavior. He says I’m blowing it out of proportion and need to get over it.
