I (M24) started dating this girl about a year ago, we dated for about 3 months. Things were going well, but then she screamed at me for 4 days because I asked her not to do something that bothered me, and broke up with me over text saying that I was being abusive when all I tried to do is tell her that she did something I didn’t like.

Fast forward to the present. We met at and go to the same university. Today I was in the food court, and she saw me and tried to be friendly and basically acted like she wanted back in my life again. And I wasn’t interested given how things went last time.

I was nice to her in the moment, I didn’t lose my cool in public, because I didn’t want to embarrass her.

Now she’s all mad at me and asking me “what made me feel the need to send that” and saying that she didn’t care and acting like I’m the bad guy still. But it wasn’t unprovoked, and I genuinely feel like I handled that with as much class as I could.

Update: someone else mentioned it, we had ended things off amicably, and both decided no contact as best. Idm why she decided she wanted to be friends now, or why she expected us to be friendly again after that.
