I really tried to do something nice for my BIL and SIL and now several people think I am the a-hole? I really don't get it, so I hope you can help me out.

For the backstory:

I (35F) have been married for a while and my husband (Marc) has a sister Leony (40F) who grew up as the golden child in the family. In elementary school she looked cute and had high grades, but it all went a bit of the rails when she was a teenager, although her parents of course still supported her. In her college years she had some exchange programme outside the country and basically hang around there, married a guy, brought him back home and had kids and didn't finish her studies as she planned. In the end she did pick up her college again and is set to graduate soon.

Anyways, on a birthday party where we all were my husband asked his sister about her plans. Leony said she wanted to find a job in her field, and she hoped it was still possible as it is quite competitive and the hiring process takes a long time. Her husband said that he believed in her and that Leony would get the job she wanted and he couldn't wait so they finally could all go on vacation to his homecountry together.

Last week at work I was talking to a manager of another department and he told me they were starting a project soon and they were still looking for some people who could work on the project temporary. I mentioned that my SIL just finished her college and might like something temporary, so he send me the job ad and I send it to Leony, telling her it might be nice to make some money while looking for other work.

In the evening when I came home my husband Marc was kind of irritated, turns out Leony's husband called him and was angry about me sending the job ads to Leony. I really don't get what I did wrong here, I mean, I just thought maybe she likes making a bit of money temporarily. I just wanted to help, and now Leony's husband are angry and my husband agrees with them??
