So, here's the situation: A few days ago, I went to McDonald's to grab lunch. I ordered a Big Mac meal, but when I got my food and checked it, they gave me a completely wrong order. I was given a chicken sandwich instead of the Big Mac I paid for.
I went back to the counter, explained the mistake, and politely asked for a refund or at least a replacement for the right order. I wasn’t rude at all—I just wanted what I had paid for. However, when I approached the counter, the employee behind the register seemed visibly annoyed. I tried to stay calm and explained again that I had received the wrong meal, and that I just wanted either a refund or the correct order.
At this point, the situation escalated in a way I wasn’t prepared for. The employee started yelling at me, saying I was lying and that I should "just be grateful" for what I got. I tried to remain calm, but before I knew it, the employee physically lunged at me, hitting me. I was shocked and honestly didn’t know what to do.
The restaurant manager came over and calmed things down, but the damage was done. I was in pain and felt completely violated. I’ve since reported the incident to McDonald's, but they’ve just sent me a generic response. I feel like I have no choice but to sue them for the assault and for not properly addressing the situation.
Now, I’m wondering if I’m in the wrong here. Am I overreacting? Should I have just let it go instead of taking legal action?
