📝 AITAH for telling my ex's parents the truth?

*In my society, it’s common to live with our parents until our mid-30s or until we get married\*

I dated my ex for 6 years. In the beginning, I saw him as a family oriented guy who deeply loved his parents and had a decent job. From what I saw, they were a really sweet family.

Several months later, I found out he lied to his parents. He always told them he was staying at my place, in fact, he was partying and crashing at his friends' places. I covered for him anyway because I loved him and didn't want to control him. His mom even used to call and thank me, saying I was finally his “safe zone.” (Even though I felt awful lying to her.)

Then last month, I found out he had lied to me—he said he was home with fam but was actually out with colleagues drinking.

That moment shattered all the trust we had. I didn’t know what was real anymore. I thought I was his safe space. So, I broke up with him and told his parents the truth about all the lies. Because once I left, no one else would know where he really was anymore—and honestly, I couldn’t keep lying to such a kind and loving family.

So… AITAH for telling his parents the truth?
