I (30m) live in a building with a variety of tenants. My neighbors (70m) invited me to his place to hang out and smoke a few joints (we're both medical patients.) When I come over he asked me what I was doing, I told him about going back to college. He then launched into a 15 minute speech about his niece and how he will take her to school anytime she needs a ride, which melded into how he was a gangster, and then he proceeds to talk for nearly an hour about random shit that has nothing to do with anything. At this point I should have left almost an hour and a half ago. I interjected in his ramblings and said "bro what does this have to do with anything?" He then pauses and thinks about the one thing I said, and says "well you said you were going back to college and I just think that's a good thing." I kind of felt like a dick but I said "so then why have you been preaching for an hour about nothing?" He got offended and told me to leave. I don't think that I did anything wrong but why not let the internet decide?
