Obviously there's more to the story than shared here but I wanted to ask about this specific thing so we could get at least one part of the fight settled. I cannot believe that anyone can come up with a fight over something like this but here we are. We are a middle-aged couple with a one year old

We were doing grocery shopping yesterday with my partner and our baby and hence we're using a shopping cart. I was pushing the cart and the baby is on board. I stopped to pick up an item. There was a woman in front of me trying to get to the shelf so I moved the cart backwards but it stopped after a few cms. I tried again and the same thing happened. And again. I thought there was smtg wrong with the cart so I moved the cart to the side then where my partner was standing. I was pissed about not being able to move the cart bc I find it really rude not to consider others and hindering them from getting their stuff. I managed to move the cart just enough to let her through when my partner then informed me that the cart was not moving bc his foot was on the way and I kept hitting it with the cart. And he was pissed about this. We managed to solve this issue then but for whatever reason revisited this topic again today and I told him it was his fault for not telling me or moving his foot. This made him completely loose his s*it and shouting at me, comparing me to a person texting and driving and running over someone. I tried to tell him if there's only one person who knows this is happening it is that person's responsibility to inform the other. Or better yet, just solve the issue by moving your foot. He did admit that he doesn't think I would have done this if I had known. I asked him to take responsibility for his part but he's saying it's my fault for hitting him and is furious for me telling him it's my fault.

So, please, Reddit, AITAH for telling him this was his fault?
