📝 AITAH for telling somebody that I'm going to be putting their packages in the bin?

Hi all.

About two months ago we were delivered a series of boxes that, according to the sticker, contained branded merchandise for a company. While the address was mine, the name attached to it wasn't and the company doesn't have any sort of public facing presence on my street to take them to. I contacted the courier and told them the situation and was told that they would be picked back up within five business days. I work full time and it's our rainy season and so I was having to move six heavy boxes in and out of the cover of my front porch, since I wanted to be a semi decent person and not get their merchandise soaked. They got picked up after five days and that was that.

A month later, they showed up on my front door again. I was home this time and managed to catch the courier, but was told that he was unable to take the boxes back. After taking a look at my previous correspondence, he agreed that the issue wasn't resolved and would organise them to get picked up the next morning and returned to the warehouse. This time I also messaged the company to let them know that their package would be with the courier and to perhaps contact them or the sender to get it sorted. The boxes were picked up the next morning and the company responded some hours later asking if they could pick them up from my house, to which I told them they were too late. Again, that was that.

Lo and behold, that was not that. They've just turned up again this morning. In this entire time there has been no additional information added to the boxes, all the original stickers and incorrect address information is on there, so obviously they keep getting sent back here. The couriers are clearly incompetent and the company clearly hasn't bothered contacting them to change anything, so I have just messaged the company. A quick text letting them know that their boxes are at my house again, are sitting on my lawn (rain is forecasted over the next few days), and that if they're still there in a week or if they show up at my house again I will be disposing of the contents. They seem pretty poor at timely responses, so I don't know how they feel about the matter, but I have had friends tell me I'm TA for potentially binning someone elses belongings.

I'm probably AN asshole, but am I THE asshole?
