I'm 65. I'm so sick of people my age or just slightly older than me acting like their lives are over, or have the most insipid and boring hobbies, or really cliche stuff like knitting and quilting, OLD people stuff! I've been retired for 10 years, and I don't get this old people mentality. How do you get so out of shape you can't participate in activities? I've never made a dedicated effort to exercise in my life, and I like to eat good food, drink alcohol, hang out with friends, go to concerts, travel, everything, but you'll never catch me "volunteering" or quilting or playing bingo at the local assisted living place. My God, is this what "old" people really think is rewarding, or AITAH? I just don't understand these boring life choices or how someone gets themselves in a situation where they're so inert and immobile. I'm trying to accept it and be kind, but geez, how awful ! To each his own, but really???
