I 20(F) have a spoilt younger sister who is 17. She is the favorite child and was treated so well. While I was excluded and mistreated. My older brother 23(M) left years ago due to how our younger sister was the favorite. He was also mistreated.

I saved 400$ to give my younger sister as a birthday gift. Yesterday my younger sister asked me if she could use my expensive laptop I got for school. I told her no because she always loses things and it’s very destructive. She is very inconsiderate of others property.

I let her borrow my AirPods once and she dropped them into boiling oil while she was cooking. She never replaced them. She also destroyed my brothers skateboard, she just took it without asking. She never replaced anything she broke. Our parents let her get away with it and told us to just replace the things she breaks.

Anyways she went into my room yesterday. Keep in mind my laptop costed 500$. She took it out of my room without asking. I come home from work hours later, and my screen was completely broken, it was dropped in water, the keyboard missed a lot of keys. It was all scratched up. I was livid, and confronted my sister about the laptop. She told me to just replace it because “I have a good job.”

I told her, “The money I was going to give you for your birthday, is now going to be used to replace my property, since you have no consideration for other people’s personal property.”

My sister went upstairs crying to my parents. They told me I was selfish. They said if I didn’t give my sister the birthday money they’d kick me out. I packed my bags and went to my brother house. He is letting me stay with him. My aunt asked what happened, I told her the truth. My parents are ripping me a new one through text? I also pressed charges on my younger sister for theft and destruction of property?
