I (19F) have been friends with Lexi (20F) since we were 11-12. We have had lots of good moments as well as bad moments but all in all, we get along pretty well.

More context, me and my brother (22M) are really close. We share a lot of interests and consider each other as our best friends. I’ve never thought of him as anything else other than my brother but my friend seems to think otherwise.

Yesterday I was texting her about a movie I watched with my brother and she bluntly asked if I liked him or something. Obviously I was confused cause what the fuck? I asked what she meant and she just replied that “we’re too close for siblings and she wonders if there’s something else between us.”

I told her it was gross she was even implying that and I only loved my brother as a BROTHER. She sent a couple half-assed apologies and I just didn’t respond back.

I can think of some reasons why she might be like this but at the same time, I just don’t understand. When we were 14-15, her crush liked me and she made a big deal about it even though I didn’t like him like that.

She also was sexually assaulted by a family member in the past so maybe that’s why she’s so fixated on incest? But I was also in the same position and I don’t go around accusing people of fucking their family?

As of right now, I’m not texting her and I obviously don’t see my brother any differently. He’s my brother and he always will be just that. Also, I literally have a crush on a guy that Lexi KNOWS about so I don’t know…

I wanna cut her off because she’s made enough mess with me in the past with other occasions I didn’t mention. But, I don’t wanna me cutting her off to be made into a big deal. If someone can help with how to approach the situation it would help a lot or please let me know if I’m in the wrong.
