📝 AITAH For yelling at my downstairs neighbors?

I (28F), have just about had it with my downstairs neighbors. Before I get to why I at yelled them, I'll give you guys some background.

We live in a house that was renovated into two apartments. One downstairs, the other one upstairs. I live in the upstairs one while they live in the downstairs one. This building is old, (built in 1900), and there are many creaks and squeaky floorboards, so of course they can hear me walking around in my apartment.

In mid-January of this year, they began to complain that I was being too loud. They would text me and ask if I could please be quiet since they have a one year old. I felt a bit intimidated because I had once been in a situation like this before I moved into this place. I started to tiptoe around my apartment and would take my shoes off at the bottom of the stairs before going up to my apartment, thinking they could hear every noise I made. Most likely, they can. Friends of mine assured me that if you live below someone, you can hear them moving around and talking. It's normal.

I eventually grew tired of literally TIPTOEING around my OWN APARTMENT. I called the landlord who let them know they were being ridiculous and if they'd had a problem, they should've contacted him instead of me. For context, the reason they have my number is for snow removal since our landlord won't pay anyone to do it, so we have to text each other about moving cars, etc.

Fast forward to this past weekend; I was bringing my laundry inside and the screen door slammed shut behind me. This was an accident, of course. I heard the girlfriend say to her daughter "oh is she slamming doors again? Stop slamming doors, please!" I immediately lost my cool and yelled "I didn't effing mean to!" That was probably childish on my part but enough is enough. Also, what do they think would happen? You annoy a nice person enough times and they lose their composure.

They are also expecting again, so I'm not sure what will happen when that new baby comes. I'm sure as hell not going to stop living my life and being a human being. We make noise, that's normal. We sneeze, trip, and sometimes doors slam shut behind us because we're holding laundry with both hands...

I noticed today that only one car was on their side of the driveway, (we have a half-circle driveway). Obviously the girlfriend and the baby aren't here tonight. But honestly, how do they expect the little girl to get used to everyday sounds? By trying to manipulate the upstairs neighbor into being quiet? Get a damn white noise machine like I have. Also, these guys are smoking insane amounts of weed around their one year old child. Now, no parent is perfect, but I sure as hell wouldn't be smoking weed around my child and their underdeveloped brain.
