So, here’s the deal: I met this coworker at our job, and we hit it off right away. I’m naturally friendly and outgoing, so we clicked instantly. She mentioned she was getting bored with her current role, so I told her about another place I was working at and suggested she check it out. She took my advice and moved to that new job without giving her previous manager a heads-up, which was a bit sketchy.
After a while, she started feeling restless again. I had picked up work at yet another spot, and she was eager to join me there. The catch was, we had a mutual friend who wasn’t thrilled about the idea because of some past issues. Despite the warning, I gave in to her persistence and helped her get a position at this third place.
Now, she’s got this look—think fake tits , big lips, blonde extensions—and a super sweet act that draws clients in. She started making more commission than me, and clients preferred her, which cut into my work. To adjust, I switched to afternoon shifts to balance things out.
Then, she blew a bunch of cash on her hair extensions and needed extra shifts to make up for it. She asked to work on Thursdays, which was one of my days. I said no because we had enough staff, and I knew she’d attract all the clients, leaving me with little work and I also needed a bit of space. She seemed to understand but then went behind my back.
That Thursday morning, she told the owner she was giving me a ride to work and will hang out to keep me company but won’t work. The owner suggested that since she was there, she might as well work. When I found out, I felt it was pointless for me to go in, so I canceled my shift. This turned into a whole drama.
She went to the owner, played the victim, and made me look like the bad guy. I called her to explain how I felt, but it didn’t resolve anything. Frustrated, I quit on impulse. Later, I heard the owner thought I was trying to sabotage the business, probably because of things my so called friend said about me.
After I left, she asked to take over my shifts, acting like nothing happened. She still talks to me but has never apologized or acknowledged what went down, which really bothers me.
