📝 Birthday dinner

I went out to dinner for my birthday with 2 other people to a restaurant we’ve been to a few times before. I really wanted the scallops and risotto but it was $35 and I wasn’t paying so I was planning to just get a $13 sandwich I’ve always had there and liked. I didn’t see it on the menu but figured it didn’t hurt to ask, so I asked the server if they still offered that sandwich and he said no. One of the people I was with mentioned it was my birthday, but I just said that was fine and went ahead and ordered the scallops instead and said I’d cover the tip since my meal was expensive. When the server brought out our meals, he said he’d mentioned the sandwich to the sous chef who had everything they needed so she made it for me. Incredibly nice on the restaurant’s part. But then the bill came, and they had charged the $35 for the scallops instead of the $13 for the sandwich. I asked about the charge and the server rolled his eyes. They ended up taking $10 off which basically split the difference. I really wasn’t sure what to do though since they’d gone out of their way to make the dumb sandwich. AITAH for asking about the cost of it on the bill?
