This is my first post, so please excuse any Reddit rule breaking

My friends and I, 4x 35+ year old women, spent the weekend in Vegas. My one friend is a gorgeous woman, and immediately attracted the attention of some hot Scottish guys (who were there for a special sporting event). Other guys were also immediately interested in her and flocked quickly. My friend was friendly, and stayed with me to chat with these guys. Even though she was really drunk, she made sure to stay with me and include me in all the conversations. She’d introduce us all, get a conversation going, and then flutter away to chat with someone else.

There was one Scottish guy trying to respectfully get her attention. Whenever he would get near, I would steer my gorgeous friend away. I’m not sure why I did it, but I essentially kept her from talking to this guy all night. The brief moments they were together, they were so sweet but never had enough time to chat deeper before she was steered away. When she was talking to someone else, she’d be watching him across the room, and he’d already be looking at her.

By the end of the night, she wanted to focus more attention on him. I made up a lie that our whole group had to head back up to our room, and took her away without giving her a chance to talk to the guy again or to even get his contact info.

The next morning, she was so sad for an opportunity missed. And I feel horrible. I’m not sure why I did it. He was being incredibly respectful towards her, and she truly enjoyed being in his presence. I know it’s Vegas and it can be superficial, but I know I cheated my friend of an opportunity to meet someone new. Two days after, and she’s still regretful she didn’t get more time with him. Even though my friend is legit gorgeous, she is intimidating and doesn’t often have men approach her. So I took a fairly new opportunity away from her.

This is my confession, but I also know the Reddit community is large. Maybe fate will intervene, and I can somehow connect these two people. Who knows!
