I work “remote” as in there’s not a single physical place where we all work together. I put in my 2 weeks notice in a group chat with my manager and his manager. I was polite and thanked them for the opportunity blah blah blah. My manager called me and asked if I was sure I wanted to move on(this isn’t the first time I was going to quit and the first time they offered me a small bonus to stay). He also asked where I was going and I thought he was chill so I told him(it’s one of our customers) and he was trying to convince me otherwise saying I won’t like it and I’ll be calling him months from now saying I want my job back. After I told him I guess I’ll find out, he got aggressive and said well you signed a non compete clause so don’t think you’ll be able to do our job there, i told him I wouldn’t do that. And then he proceeds to say “well you’re a big boy you can do whatever you want but you signed that contract so [Company Name] won’t hesitate to take action” and he also essentially threatened that [Company Name] may drop service to this customer, essentially threatening to try and pressure the company I accepted the offer at to not hire me in fear of losing this service.
