📝 I visit my friend occasionally and had to park on a footpath but one of the neighbors reported me

My friend lives in an estate that has terrible parking. There's a "communal" parking area that can only fit around 6 cars but the residents park their cars sideways to prevent people parking there, so nearly everyone that doesn't have a driveway outside their house park their cars on the footpaths.

As I said in the title I occasionally visit my friend. Well today I drove to my friend's house to collect her and I parked on the footpath, got out of my car and stood beside it as I waited for her. I parked in between my friend's drive and her neighbors drive where there's a wall, making sure I didn't block either drive. This lady starts shouting at me from her window telling me I'm parking illegally and that she struggles to get her car out in the mornings as she can't reverse out of her drive due to my car being there (I never stay the night at my friends house so my car is never there in the morning). She then tells me to use the communal parking.

I explained to her that I can't park there as there's people parked sideways and I pointed at numerous other cars parked on the footpaths. I also pointed out how there was so much space for her car to reverse out and that my car was in no way blocking her. She then slams the window shut.

I drop my friend home later around 9pm and we watch a tv show for a few hours and I come out to my car and it has a note on it saying l've been reported for parking illegally. Do I have any leg to stand on in relation to this, and will I receive a fine?
