Last night’s ‘family dinner’ ended with my aunt crying over the mashed potatoes, my uncle debating politics with the dog, and my sister announcing she’s joining a cult. By dessert, I needed a therapist on speed dial.

But seriously why do we pretend these gatherings are ‘bonding time’ when half the table is silently drafting their AITAH posts? Is it just my family, or does anyone else leave these events more drained than a 3-hour work meeting?
