📝 My friend hates “dark hairs” and I called her racist

Okay… so hear me out… I lived with my friend in our 20s and she always got grossed out by “dark hairs” in our apartment. So if my hair shed (which is normal) and she’d find it she would pick it up and make a “grossed out” scene. She’s blonde. Her hair sheds too, yes. So we’ve grown up and have daughters a year apart. I send her amazing clothes that were my daughters. But each time I send I have to hear something like “one of your hairs slipped in the box.”

The box I sent last week just arrived. And she sends me a text with her daughter in the clothes. Then follows up with “my daughter is asked why one of your hairs is on the big sis sweatshirt.”

I immediately got triggered but responded with a response from chatGPT which was:

“You can tell her…

Hair falls out sometimes because it’s making room for new hair to grow! Just like leaves fall off trees and new ones grow, our hair does a little dance—some hairs fall out, and new ones come in. It’s totally normal!”

And then followed up with… “but maybe you need to hear this too?”

She responded with “she’s just like her mom weary of dark hairs in random places”

And I responded “racist?” 🫣

Now I feel bad… so I lightened it by asking “why dark hairs specifically?”

Am I the asshole??
