My son thinks I am wrong and I think I was justified. We flagged a NYC taxi after leaving from the hair salon (my son got a haircut). Upon entering the taxi and giving the address, I doublechecked with my son that he had his cellphone. He did not, he had forgotten it in the salon. I asked the taxi to pull over. We had been in the car less than two minutes and had traveled 5-10 feet (we were at a red light). The taxi driver insisted I pay $10.25 even though we hadn’t gone anywhere. I was willing to give him $5 for his trouble. AITA for not wanted to pay the “full” fare? (I did pay, with tip, after 30 seconds of complaining and seeing my son was mortified).
