📝 Wibta if I went to the car shop and demanded a progress report?

For context, my husband hit a tree near Christmas time. It wasn't hard, as far as I know, but it bent the frame ( i think, that's all my husband would tell me). Well, it's been sitting at the auto shop for 118 days. Every time I ask about him getting it back, or a progress report or anything, my husband says that i can't rush him and that demanding the keys back right now means it won't be fixed because we have nowhere else to take it. We paid 900 in cash already, but frankly, there has been no communication from the shop. Nothing. 2 weeks ago, he ( my husband) went up to the shop and it looked like the guy hadn't touched it. He even told my husband that he hadn't started it in a while. What do I do? I want to go demand some answers but it's his car. If he wants to let it sit then what's the point of me even going up there? I want to demand some sort of reason out of the guy but my husband doesn't want me going alone or it seems like, at all. Is it normal to have to wait this long for a repair? I just don't know what to do
