Not my story but my friend's--

I (16m) invited 9 of my friends to my birthday party. It was over $300 and at one of those places with inflatables and games and shit. The place was 40 minutes from our area and we gave rides there and back to 7 of the 9 guests. I was hoping for gifts from people but only got physical gifts from 2 friends and a card from 1 other. I was handed a crumbled $5 bill from another friend, and 2 people said they had money/cards for me but forgot. There were 4 people there who never mentioned a gift at all.

Here's where I'm wondering if I would be the asshole. Should I confront the people who said they'd give gifts/didn't give gifts and see what's happening with that? I don't want to come off as greedy or entitled, but I feel really bad knowing how expensive the party was and how much effort/time was put in driving people and whatnot. WIBTAH? Thank you so much!
