I was very close to my grandma who recently passed away (she was 97 and had lived a great life). She had had 3 sons one of whom was my father. As a family we were very close to her even after my father died (almost 15 years ago).
I only found out this week from lawyers that my grandma's large estate will be split between my two uncles ("her two living sons") and my side of the family will be getting almost nothing. I am personally ok with it, but my mother and brother are both angry because a) both uncles are already very wealthy and b) they were executors of the will so they knew of this in advance, maybe even drew it up for her.
I value my relationship with my uncles but my immediate family think this is a betrayal and we should probably just cut them out of our lives. I am not sure as I have always had a great relationship with them.
